RiRi Woo Review & Swatches

Well hello there.

So after all the hype and glueing my eyes to the Mac website whilst  frantically trying to add this baby to my cart and proceed with the wind to checkout....it has finally, well, they have finally made their way into my arms all the way in Trinidad.

MAC RiRi Woo Lipstick ($15.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “matte cool red [with a retro matte finish].” It’s a deep, medium-dark red with strong cool undertones and a matte finish. It has a slight more blue hue than that of big sis Ruby Woo.

In my opinion, the difference isn't very noticeable, and to be quite honest, it looks like the same lipstick.  However, I do not feel cheated as the texture is somewhat different to Ruby Woo, since it is much more moist in comparison. And we all know how dry Ruby Woo is.

RiRi Woo has Rihanna’s signature etched around the side of the lipstick itself.  I would have loved to have seen Mac do a bit more with the packaging though.

This lipstick was only available online and sold and Rihanna concerts, but catch it next time around when Mac re-releases it with the rest of the RirRi ♥'s Mac in June.

I absolutely love everything Robyn Rihanna Fenty and I will duly support my fellow Island Girl, even moreso in this venture.

I am so ready for more...

Mac Dollymix Blush Swatches and Review

I've been looking for a nice pink blush and was told to try this one out. This is not a newbie, this girl's been on the block a while.

Dollymix is a sheertone blush which makes it very easy to apply. It's buildable so you can pack it on for more POW.

Mac Lightscapade MSF Review and Swatches

So I've had a battle with myself about Little Miss Lighscapade since last year. I'm not a big highlight girl. I mean the only thing close to a highlighter that I own is the Giddy Gold blush from Elf. When Chantel got it back when the Fall Color Collection came out, I was a bit curious.
I was glad to hear it would be back with Reel Sexy but I still wasn't sold. Even when I went into the store for the launch, I was like "hmmmmmm should I, or should I not?". I gave in......but I absolutely love it. I'm seriously gonna be wearing it everyday.

The one I got has a lot less veining than the ones I've seen online which was a bit disappointing but oh well.

MAC Lightscapade Mineralize Skinfinish is described as a “soft candlelit beige with multi-dimensional shimmer.” It is limited edition, but it did previously launch like I said with the Fall Color Collection back in September, 2011.
MSF's can be used as a bronzer, blush or highlighter, but Lightscapade is most definitely a highlighter, especially on brown skin.

Mac Reel Sexy Heroine Lipstick Swatches and Review

So I wasn't big on purple lipsticks until Chantel at Blush Happy convinced me that it was worth a try and Heroine was the best place to start.

Heroine is a magenta purple and has a matte finish. There is a slight sheen though. It is very opaque and goes on smooth. It is very close to Mac Violetta which is a slight bit darker and has a shimmer as it is an Amplified lipstick.

I'm so excited to wear this out :D

Mac Hey Sailor Jaunty Eyeshadow Review and Swatch

Jaunty is a light yellow beige and has a frost finish. It's the perfect highlight. It has a sort of champagne look which I'm absolutely in love with.

L.A Girl Soulmate Luxury Creme' Lip Color Review and Swatches

Let me tell you how I fell in love with lipstick...
Meet my soulmate :) Well not my real soulmate but this lipstick comes in very close. It's a rich blue-toned red. It's very creamy and goes on opaque. It gives about 4 hours of wear.

This is the first red lipstick I dared to try and have been in love ever since. I even got so brave that I started trying more bold  colours.

I have a few other shades in this brand which I absolutely can't get enough of. I'll try my best to review them, even in the bad state that they're in :)

Also, I'll try to do a lip swatch but I really don't like how my lip looks when I do close-ups :(

The formula:

Its blend of moisturizing ingredients of aloe, shea butter & vitamin E enhances lips, leaving a smoother, healthier feel.

It retails at $4.00USD on the LA Girl website

You can also get it here in Trinidad at Wonderful World West Mall. They no longer stock it at the Gulf City Branch :( womp womp womp...

Mac Viva Glam Nicki Lipstick Review and Swatches

Viva Glam Nicki is a vibrant medium pink with subtle yellow undertones. It looks pinky/coral and many have compared it to Force of Love from the Mac Chenman Love and Water collection. In my opinion this is a lighter pink and has less coral than FOL.
See review here

It has a satin finish, which means it has a semi-matte finish. It has a slight sheen but nothing to talk about. It is very opaque and applies evenly. It wears for about 3 hours cuz I'm always licking my lipstick off lol.

Aphogee Two-Step Protein Treatment Review

I actually filmed this video since last year and just got around to editing. Yeah so video editing is not my forte. I'm glad I finally got around to doing it though. This is a great product. I couldn't find it here in Trinidad so I had to get it from a seller on Amazon. I suggest buying the 16oz bottle but there is also a 4oz one.

I recently heard of a place on Arapita Avenue and another one on Charlotte St., Port of Spain that sells it but I can't remember the names. Sorry :(

It's not too hard to use. Here's how it goes:
1. Shampoo hair
2. Blot hair with towel
3. Evenly distribute Aphoogee throughout entire head. Section off hair if desired
4. Blow dry till completely dry
5. I would suggest cooling off before rinsing hair due to the application of head
6. Rinse all the product out
7. Condition hair
8. Rinse

and you're done!

Edited: Deleted my old youtube, so as soon as I do a new review I'll be sure to upload to this post. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Mac Shop Mac, Cook Mac: Runaway Red Review and Swatches

So Runaway Red is a very vibrant red. At first glance I thought it would be a bit darker when I put it on but it was not. It has a satin finish and it very moist. This is the perfect statement lipstick and is the Yin to my Ruby Woo yang as Ruby Woo is extremely matte and very dry but I love it all the same.

This looks a lot like my LA Girl 'Soulmate' lipstick which was what inspired me to wear bold lipsticks. Will do a comparison soon to see if it's a dupe.

Stay Glam!
